Peperomia petrophila merupakan tumbuhan epifit dari famili Piperaceae (suku sirih-sirihan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Meksiko, Venezuela, hingga Kuba. Nama ilmiah Peperomia petrophila pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Anne Casimir Pyrame de Candolle pada tahun 1872.
