Persea costata merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk pohon dari famili Lauraceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah di wilayah Kolombia (Antioquia). Nama ilmiah Persea costata pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Carl Daniel Friedrich Meissner pada tahun 1864.
