Persea humilis merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk perdu atau pohon dari famili Lauraceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis di wilayah Florida. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan silk bay. Nama ilmiah Persea humilis pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis George Valentine Nash pada tahun 1895.
