Persea schiedeana adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan berbentuk pohon dari famili Lauraceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Meksiko hingga Kolombia. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan coyo. Nama ilmiah Persea schiedeana pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Christian Gottfried Daniel Nees von Esenbeck pada tahun 1836.
