Phaenanthoecium koestlinii adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan menahun dari famili Poaceae (suku rumput-rumputan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma gurun pasir atau sabana kering di kawasan tropis Afrika bagian timur laut, Yaman. Nama ilmiah Phaenanthoecium koestlinii pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Christian Ferdinand Friedrich Hochstetter pada tahun 1936.
