Philodendron insigne merupakan tumbuhan epifit dari famili Araceae (suku talas-talasan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah di wilayah kawasan tropis Amerika selatan. Nama ilmiah Philodendron insigne diperkenalkan oleh Heinrich Wilhelm Schott pada tahun 1856.
