Phleum echinatum merupakan tumbuhan semusim dari famili Poaceae (suku rumput-rumputan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang di wilayah Eropa tenggara, Krym. Nama ilmiah Phleum echinatum pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Nicolaus Thomas Host pada tahun 1805.
