Phlomis thapsoides merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Lamiaceae (suku nilam-nilaman). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang di wilayah Asia tengah. Nama ilmiah Phlomis thapsoides pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Alexander Andrejewitsch von Bunge pada tahun 1852.
