Phlox carolina merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Polemoniaceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang di wilayah Amerika Serikat bagian timur-tengah dan tenggara. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan thickleaf phlox. Nama ilmiah Phlox carolina pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Carolus Linnaeus dalam Species Plantarum tahun 1762.
