Phlox caryophylla merupakan tumbuhan perdu kecil dari famili Polemoniaceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Colorado hingga New Mexico. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan clove phlox. Nama ilmiah Phlox caryophylla pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Edgar Theodore Wherry pada tahun 1944.
