Phonus rhiphaeus merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Asteraceae (suku aster-asteran). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis di wilayah Maroko. Nama ilmiah Phonus rhiphaeus pertama kali dipublikasikan pada tahun 1990.
