Phoradendron californicum merupakan tumbuhan hemiparasit dari famili Santalaceae. Spesies ini memiliki kebiasaan tumbuh menempel pada batang pohon lain (epifit). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma gurun pasir atau sabana kering dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Amerika Serikat barat daya hingga New Mexico dan Meksiko barat laut. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan mesquite mistletoe. Nama ilmiah Phoradendron californicum pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Thomas Nuttall pada tahun 1848.
