Phrynium kaniense adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan dari famili Marantaceae. Spesies ini memiliki kebiasaan membentuk akar rimpang. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah di wilayah Papua. Nama ilmiah Phrynium kaniense diperkenalkan oleh Ludwig Eduard Theodor Loesener pada tahun 1938.
