Phyllanthus orbiculatus merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk perdu kecil dari famili Phyllanthaceae yang memiliki siklus hidup semusim (annual). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Trinidad hingga kawasan tropis Amerika selatan. Nama ilmiah Phyllanthus orbiculatus diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Louis Claude Marie Richard pada tahun 1792.
