Phyllocosmus africanus merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk pohon dari famili Ixonanthaceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari kawasan tropis Afrika bagian barat hingga Sudan Selatan. Nama ilmiah Phyllocosmus africanus pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Joseph Dalton Hooker pada tahun 1857.
