Phyllostegia ambigua merupakan tumbuhan perdu dari famili Lamiaceae (suku nilam-nilaman). Spesies ini memiliki kebiasaan tumbuh memanjat. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah di wilayah Kepulauan Hawaii (Hawaii, Maui). Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan mountain phyllostegia. Nama ilmiah Phyllostegia ambigua diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Asa Gray pada tahun 1888.
