Phyllostegia macrophylla merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk perdu dari famili Lamiaceae (suku nilam-nilaman). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah di wilayah Kepulauan Hawaii (Maui timuri, Hawaii timur). Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan largeleaf phyllostegia. Nama ilmiah Phyllostegia macrophylla diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Charles Gaudichaud-Beaupré pada tahun 1830.
