Physalis nicandroides adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan semusim dari famili Solanaceae (suku terong-terongan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Meksiko hingga Nikaragua. Nama ilmiah Physalis nicandroides pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Diederich Franz Leonhard von Schlechtendal pada tahun 1846.
