Physocalymma scaberrimum merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk pohon dari famili Lythraceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Ekuador hingga Bolivia dan Brazil. Nama ilmiah Physocalymma scaberrimum diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Johann Baptist Emanuel Pohl pada tahun 1827.
