Picea asperata var. ponderosa merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk pohon dari famili Pinaceae (suku pinus-pinusan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang di wilayah China (Sichuan barat). Nama ilmiah Picea asperata var. ponderosa pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Alfred Rehder pada tahun 1914.
