Pichonia occidentalis merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk pohon dari famili Sapotaceae (suku sawo-sawoan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Maluku hingga Papua. Nama ilmiah Pichonia occidentalis pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Herman Johannes Lam pada tahun 1963.
