Pilea monilifera merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Urticaceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang di wilayah China selatan. Nama ilmiah Pilea monilifera diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Heinrich Raphael Eduard Handel-Mazzetti pada tahun 1929.
