Pilostyles thurberi merupakan tumbuhan holoparasit dari famili Apodanthaceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma gurun pasir atau sabana kering dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Amerika Serikat bagian barat daya dan selatan-tengah hingga Meksiko. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan thurber's stemsucker. Nama ilmiah Pilostyles thurberi pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Asa Gray pada tahun 1855.
