Pinus contorta var. contorta merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk pohon dari famili Pinaceae (suku pinus-pinusan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Alaska selatan hingga California utara. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan beach pine.
