Sirih merah adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan dari famili Piperaceae (suku sirih-sirihan). Tumbuhan yang dikenal dengan nama ilmiah Piper crocatum ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Ekuador hingga Peru. Nama ilmiah Piper crocatum pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Hipólito Ruiz López pada tahun 1798.
