Piper glabrescens adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan berbentuk perdu atau pohon dari famili Piperaceae (suku sirih-sirihan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Meksiko (Veracruz, Oaxaca, Chiapas), hingga kawasan tropis Amerika. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan guyanese pepper. Nama ilmiah Piper glabrescens diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Friedrich Anton Wilhelm Miquel pada tahun 1869.
