Piptocoma rufescens merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Asteraceae (suku aster-asteran). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari Hispaniola. Nama ilmiah Piptocoma rufescens pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Alexandre Henri Gabriel de Cassini pada tahun 1817.
