Piscidia piscipula merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk pohon dari famili Fabaceae (suku polong-polongan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Meksiko, Amerika tengah, Florida, hingga Karibia. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan florida fishpoison tree. Nama ilmiah Piscidia piscipula pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Charles Sprague Sargent pada tahun 1891.
