Pithecellobium excelsum adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan berbentuk pohon dari famili Fabaceae (suku polong-polongan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Ekuador hingga Peru. Nama ilmiah Pithecellobium excelsum diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Carl Sigismund Kunth pada tahun 1837.
