Placodiscus boya merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk pohon dari famili Sapindaceae (suku lerak-lerakan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah di kawasan tropis Afrika barat dan barat-tengah. Nama ilmiah Placodiscus boya pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis André Aubréville pada tahun 1938.
