Plantago coronopus merupakan tumbuhan dwimusim atau menahun dari famili Plantaginaceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Eropa, Asia tengah, Pakistan barat, Macaronesia, hingga Jazirah Arab. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan buckhorn plantain. Nama ilmiah Plantago coronopus pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Carolus Linnaeus dalam Species Plantarum tahun 1753.
