Plantago rhodosperma merupakan tumbuhan semusim dari famili Plantaginaceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Amerika Serikat tengah dan selatan, Meksiko utara dan timur, hingga Bahama. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan redseed plantain. Nama ilmiah Plantago rhodosperma pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Joseph Decaisne pada tahun 1852.
