Platostoma cochinchinense merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk perdu kecil dari famili Lamiaceae (suku nilam-nilaman) yang memiliki siklus hidup semusim (annual). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari China tenggara, Indo-China, hingga Sumatra Utara. Nama ilmiah Platostoma cochinchinense pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis João de Loureiro pada tahun 1997.
