Platycaulos major merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Restionaceae. Spesies ini memiliki kebiasaan membentuk rimpang atau stolon. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis di wilayah Provinsi Cape barat daya. Nama ilmiah Platycaulos major pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Maxwell Tylden Masters pada tahun 1985.
