Poa tolmatchewii merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Poaceae (suku rumput-rumputan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim dingin (subalpin atau subarktik) dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari kawasan subarktik Amerika hingga China timur laut dan Kanada. Nama ilmiah Poa tolmatchewii pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Roman Julievich Roshevitz pada tahun 1932.
