Podalyria calyptrata merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk perdu atau pohon dari famili Fabaceae (suku polong-polongan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis di wilayah Provinsi Cape barat daya. Nama ilmiah Podalyria calyptrata pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Anders Johan Retzius pada tahun 1799.
