Podolotus hosackioides merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Fabaceae (suku polong-polongan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Jazirah Arab selatan, Iran, hingga Himalaya barat. Nama ilmiah Podolotus hosackioides pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis John Forbes Royle pada tahun 1835.
