Poecilostachys hildebrandtii merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Poaceae (suku rumput-rumputan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering di wilayah Madagaskar. Nama ilmiah Poecilostachys hildebrandtii pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Eduard Hackel pada tahun 1884.
