Pogonatherum rufobarbatum merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Poaceae (suku rumput-rumputan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis di wilayah Assam. Nama ilmiah Pogonatherum rufobarbatum diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama William Griffith pada tahun 1851.
