Polypogon schimperianus adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan menahun dari famili Poaceae (suku rumput-rumputan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Ethiopia, kawasan tropis Afrika bagian selatan, hingga Jazirah Arab. Nama ilmiah Polypogon schimperianus pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Christian Ferdinand Friedrich Hochstetter pada tahun 1995.
