Polypogon subspathaceus merupakan tumbuhan semusim dari famili Poaceae (suku rumput-rumputan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis di wilayah Mediterania. Nama ilmiah Polypogon subspathaceus pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Esprit Requien pada tahun 1825.
