Polytoca javanica adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan menahun dari famili Poaceae (suku rumput-rumputan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Jawa Timur hingga Kepulauan Nusa Tenggara. Nama ilmiah Polytoca javanica diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Johannes Theodoor Henrard pada tahun 1939.
