Pontederia natans adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan air (hidrofit) dari famili Pontederiaceae yang hidup menahun. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah di wilayah Afrika. Nama ilmiah Pontederia natans pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Ambroise Marie François Joseph Palisot de Beauvois pada tahun 1810.
