Portulacaria afra adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan sukulen berbentuk perdu dari famili Didiereaceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Kenya barat laut, Mozambique selatan, hingga Afrika Selatan. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan elephant bush. Nama ilmiah Portulacaria afra pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Nikolaus Joseph von Jacquin pada tahun 1787.
