Potamogeton amplifolius merupakan tumbuhan semak dari famili Potamogetonaceae. Spesies ini memiliki kebiasaan tumbuh di air (hidrofit). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Kanada, Amerika Serikat, hingga Meksiko (Michoacán). Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan largeleaf pondweed. Nama ilmiah Potamogeton amplifolius pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Edward Tuckerman pada tahun 1848.
