Potentilla alba merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Rosaceae (suku mawar-mawaran). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang di wilayah Eropa. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan white cinquefoil. Nama ilmiah Potentilla alba diperkenalkan oleh Carolus Linnaeus pada tahun 1753.
