Prosthechea pygmaea merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Orchidaceae (suku anggrek-anggrekan). Spesies ini memiliki kebiasaan tumbuh menempel pada batang pohon lain (epifit) dan membentuk bonggol menyerupai umbi lapis (pseudobulbous). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Florida selatan, Meksiko hingga kawasan tropis Amerika. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan dwarf butterfly orchid.
