Prunus kotschyi merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Rosaceae (suku mawar-mawaran). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Türkiye hingga Iran. Nama ilmiah Prunus kotschyi pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Pierre Edmond Boissier pada tahun 1965.
