Prunus rhamnoides merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk pohon dari famili Rosaceae (suku mawar-mawaran). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Meksiko hingga Guatemala. Nama ilmiah Prunus rhamnoides pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Bernhard Adalbert Emil Koehne pada tahun 1915.
