Psephellus avaricus merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Asteraceae (suku aster-asteran). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang di wilayah Kaukasia timur laut. Nama ilmiah Psephellus avaricus pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Nikolai Nikolaievich Tzvelev pada tahun 2000.
